Dom and Fran have just returned from the experience of a lifetime celebrating the Men’s Rites of Passage in Scotland. Together with Jim Smith, our fellow pilgrim and closest friend (originally from Wycombe but now living in Bristol), this band of brothers spent five days on a spiritual journey into the inner man guided by the teaching of Fr Richard Rohr, a Franciscan Priest.

The Rites are not about religion, but about spirituality. About age-old traditions that guide men into manhood. About coming to trust that there is something much greater at work in our life than we could ever imagine. Taking us sometimes OUT of our comfort zones, but more deeply back into our own life.

During the 5 days we were held by an experienced team of male elders. As the Elders took us through the process of the Rites we experienced drumming, ritual, fire, silence, small groups, wilderness, solo-time, teaching … and more.
The Men’s Rites of Passage are suitable for men of all colour, age, sexuality, ethnicity and faith tradition (or no faith).

See the link to the MROP site under our Web Links section.
If you are interested in applying, talk to Dom or myself.

God bless,
Fran
