Father Christmas collecting with Wycombe Lions

Fr Christmas low res

Members of the Source Community joined the Wycombe Lions to collect for the Wycombe Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme which we founded nearly twenty years ago in conjunction with the Guinness Trust and Wycombe District Council.

The Charity helps those in housing need by offering an underwritten guarantee to landlords in place of the monetary deposit usually required, thus allowing homeless people to access accommodation. The Charity is recognised as one of the most successful one of its kind and it has helped many hundreds of people get back on their feet. It also offers advice and intermediary services to those in housing need, often preventing homelessness before it happens.

Strategy proposal submitted to Bishop

Bishop Peter

After a long and prayerful exercise of research and deliberation, the Blessed John Henry Newman Strategy Group were pleased to submit their proposals to Bishop Peter concerning the future of the Parish.

The Bishop had tasked the Group with proposing, by the end of the 2011, how best to shape the Parish under one priest from Sept 2012 and build a ‘Thriving Catholic Community’.

Bishop Peter will return to High Wycombe on the 25th January for a public announcement of his decision regarding these proposals in an open forum at St Wulstan’s Church.
